Ryuusei Rocket Cover It’s been almost eight months since Bou played his final performance with An Cafe, and about seven and a half since the band entered it’s ’second generation’ - filling Bou’s old spot with guitarist Takuya, and adding a keyboardist to the mix: Yuuki. Now, the group has released their second single since Bou left: Ryuusei Rocket. The first being Kakusei Heroism ~The Hero Without a Name~, which had the priviledge of being the second season opening theme for the anime, ‘Darker than Black.’ Ryuusei Rocket was released this past Wednesday (November 7th), featuring four tracks: Ryuusei Rocket, Koi no Dependence, Ryuusei Rocket (Instrumental), and Koi no Dependence (Instrumental). On the special edition DVD there is the Ryuusei Rocket PV. This single seems to be faring well, and Oshare Kei fans have nothing but compliments to give.

While I don’t have an accurate translation of the lyrics yet, the song title might give some clues as to what it’s about. In Japan, at the Muku Jinja Shrine, there is a festival held every year on the 10th of October. On that day they launch a 20-meter long rocket into the sky, a rocket that has the potential to reach heights of up to 300 meters. These rockets get the name ‘Ryuusei Rockets’ because ‘Ryuusei’ means ‘energetic dragon.’ They say that the smoke coming from the rockets resemble a dragon flying through the air. Just by hearing the beat and sound of the song, it seems that there may be some sort of a relationship (even if only very shallow and slight) between what the song is about, and the rocket itself. But don’t take my assumption at all seriously at the moment, seeing as I can only make guesses as to something such as the message in this song.

Already, looking at the comments of sites where the PV for Ryuusei Rocket and Kakusei Heroism are posted, fans of An Cafe seem to like their sound despite Bou’s absence in the band. Most people are welcoming the new members with open arms - absolutely in love with both Takuya and Yuuki. The future does look promising for An Cafe even though one of it’s original members are gone - but what are your opinions on this matter? Will the band continue to thrive?

And in other news…

Birthdays!

If I haven’t missed any (which I probably have ^^;;), this past week we had the lovely opportunity to celebrate the birthdays of Yasuno from Kra (November 4th), and BoA (November 5th). Yasuno has just turned 30, and BoA has turned 21. Congratulations to both of them!

Personally, I really miss Bou :( It’s such a shame that he had to leave the band. But I think that Takuya’s a good replacement, since his guitar riffs and solos are very very excellent. Not to mention, Yuuki’s keyboard pieces add extra spice to their songs ^_^
